BORAT DIRECTOR TO TEAM UP WITH JIM CARREY

Larry Charles, the director behind Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Bruno” and “Borat,” is teaming up with Jim Carrey for a similar type of comedy called “Pierre Pierre.” The plan is to make it for just over $20 million.
In the new movie, Carrey will play a Frenchman who transports a stolen painting from Paris to London, behaving more obnoxiously than any waiter you’ve ever encountered at Cannes.
Two years ago, the script for the movie by Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton was sold for $1 million and made the Black List. Carrey was set to star and Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) was attached to direct. Eventually Reitman dropped out and the project fell into turnaround.
