Scarface director for Paranormal Activity 2?

Paramount Pictures cannot be any more excited about their success with “Paranormal Activity,” which was made for $10,000 and ended up grossing over $100 million at the box office.
The studio has already announced a sequel and was planning to bring on “Saw 6″ director Kevin Greutert to helm the new film. But Greutert was contractually locked in to return for “Saw 7,” leaving “Paranormal Activity 2″ once again without a director.
Paramount immediately started searching for his replacement and have actually been in talks with Brian De Palma to take over the franchise. De Palma is the man behind such films as “Scarface,” “The Untouchables,” “Carrie,” “Carlito’s Way” and “Mission: Impossible.”
Another director that was considered for the job was Akiva Goldsman, the Oscar-winning writer of “A Beautiful Mind,” “The Da Vinci Code” and “I Am Legend.” LA Times is reporting that negotiations with Goldsman have fallen apart, so he’s out.
The studio has also been looking at Brad Anderson (Transsiberian) and Greg McLean (Wolf Creek), but no one has been signed yet. A decision will soon be made, since the film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 22nd.
