Very excited about the fact that 2 Many DJs are bringing their full live festival show to Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on August Bank Holiday Monday 2nd as part of their Under The Covers Tour 2010. A former fashion model whose photograph is used as the cover of the Vampire Weekend’s second album Contra, is suing the band, its record label XL Recordings, and the photographer who sold them the photograph for $2 million (£1.3m). She claims she only discovered that the picture had been used as an album cover when her daughter came home with a copy of the CD earlier this year. Bizarre tale of the week though has to go to Klaxons, who revealed that they took a powerful hallucinogenic to aid the process of recording their new album. Band members Jamie Reynolds and Simon Taylor-Davies admitted that they drank a plant extract, normally used by tribes in Peru, while in the company of an Amazonian spiritual leader in New York. Reynolds told The Sun: “Everybody goes to these sessions with questions. Mine was ‘How do I write this new album?’ And it gave me the answer. ‘You don’t need anything. Just go and do it.’ So we did. I saw a winged lizard ascending a spiral staircase, at the top of which was a glowing white ball.” OOOOOOO K then! Klaxons new album, Surfing The Void, is out on August 23.
