We were talking about Childline today and the great service they provide to young people in trouble. If you want to talk to someone, chat online confidentially or publically check out www.childline.ie or call 1800 66 66 66.
The Samaritans provide a similar service for anyone over the age of 18. They say:
Samaritans provides confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide.
Whatever you’re going through, whether it’s big or small, don’t bottle it up. We are here for you if you’re worried about something, feel upset or confused, or just want to talk to someone.
If you want to speak to someone confidentially about any problems you’re having in life, you can call them on 1850 60 90 90.
They offer services by telephone, email, letter and face to face in most of our branches.
