Clare McKenna

Clare began her pursuit of fame and fortune at drama college (Theatre Studies, Colaiste Dhulaigh) but upon realising Oscars and Hollywood were highly unlikely she changed tack and got herself a degree in Marketing.

Following 2 years in the industry she found herself bored by the corporate world so decided to reopen the dream career file albeit with a twist. So she got herself a post grad in Journalism and went on the trail of a job in radio or TV.

She started with a brief spell in newsreading and worked behind the scenes on a number of radio programmes at production company Digital Audio Productions. One day when walking home from Dublin’s 98 she ran into a guy she had met a couple of times through a friend, Mr Jonathan McCrea. The small talk led to a chat about how he had just finished up with Satitude on RTE and was looking to get into radio. They put together a demo and the rest as they say is history.

Their time in Spin 1038 began at the weekend, The Rear End Sunday evenings and then McKenna McCrea on Sunday mornings. When the daily talk show became available, the pair slotted in and have been at the healm of The Spin for the last 2 years, living the dream!

Clare also presented The Liffey Laugh for RTE2 in 2006 and is a voice over artist, lending her tones to TV programmes for RTE & TV3 and a number of advertising campaigns.
