AJ Pritchard opens up
AJ Pritchard's girlfriend Abbie Quinnen was left with third-degree burns after a horrific accident several weeks ago.
They were following a YouTube tutorial on how to to turn a wine bottle into a vase when she caught fire.
AJ shared exactly what happened in an interview on This Morning with Phillip and Holly.

He revealed, "her clothes caught alight, her hair caught alight and it all happened so fast, yet felt like a lifetime of a scenario."
"As soon as the fire on her body, and her hair, obviously her skin was out, we covered her in damp towels, we called 999."
AJ's brother Curtis drove them to the hospital.

The hospital
The dancer said once he handed Abbie over to the doctors and nurses, he felt, "emotionally torn."
AJ said, "I sat outside the hospital all night, knowing she wasn't going to even come out that night, knowing it was very serious."
"I was outside the hospital just sat there. I didn't know what to do."

"Curtis was telling me to go home because she wasn't going to be coming out yet."
"I just couldn't leave her side, even though I couldn't go into the hospital because of COVID."
He added, "I just waited for her."

Abbie stayed in hospital for five nights, and moved from ICU to the burns unit at Chelsea and Westminster.
Meanwhile, Curtis revealed he was upstairs when the accident occurred.
He came running down when he heard the fire alarm go off.

Coming home
AJ said he was overcome with joy on the day Abbie was discharged from hospital.
He said, "Seeing her that first day, picking her up from hospital, that was the happiest day of my life."
"Seeing her walk to me, get out of the wheelchair..."

Holly asked AJ about the recovery process, and whether this will affect her career.
The I'm A Celeb star replied, "Obviously she has had the skin grafts."
"They have been fantastic, the surgeons have done an amazing job."

"Regarding moving forward with her recovery, the doctors have talked to us but they don't know."
"She's healing fantastically," he added.
"They call her Super Abbie because her skin is doing amazing."

"Obviously, we feed her the best foods to give her all the nutrients that we can do, but further down the line there's the option of having laser on certain areas to help heal."
"But right now it's just focusing on what we can do each day and seeing those small improvements which feel like massive steps forward."
