Kendrick Lamar opened the annual MTV VMAs last night with a fiery performance, and host Katy Perry ended the show with a live rendition of her track Swish Swish with Nicki Minaj, but there was a hell of a lot in between.
Fifth Harmony used the first few seconds of their performance to throw shade at their former bandmate Camila Cabello. Lorde performed Homemade Dynamite from her new album, well kind of. She danced, but didn't sing.
And, Miley Cyrus left her twerking behind in 2013 and gave a much more grown-up performance, ironically enough to a song called Younger Now.
