New research has shown that people who watch Love Island have a higher level of intelligence.
The study from Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics indicates viewers with an above average education realise that it is 'trash TV' and are watching it ironically.
With a number of reality shows available such as Big Brother and Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it's also suggested people are taking what's called 'a brain break'.
The show, which airs on ITV and 3e, has 1.25 million people tuning in every night.
