Britney Spears asks to be released from father's control

In documents filed by her lawyer, Britney Spears is asking to be released from her father's control.

He's due to resume his role as conservator after temporarily stepping down amid health problems.

But she's asking that he step away from the situation entirely.

For the last 12 years, her father Jamie has been responsible for almost every aspect of her life.

She was put under his care in 2008 following her struggle with mental health.

He acted as co-conservator alongside lawyer Andrew M Wallet.

Andrew resigned in 2019, giving Jamie sole control.

However, Jamie recently stepped down from the position amid health problems.

He's due to resume his role as conservator soon, but Britney doesn't want that.

According to Sky News, Britney wants her temporary guardian, Jodi Montgomery, to take over as conservator.

However, that doesn't mean she's happy with this arrangement.

At the end of the day, the outlet reports that Britney wants out of the agreement altogether.
