Caitlyn Jenner opens up
Caitlyn Jenner spoke about her place in the the Transgender community this week.
She told The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast that they're very critical of her because of her background and beliefs.

Caitlyn touched on the topic after podcast host Michael Bosstick brought it up.
He said he feels she gets, "sh*t from a lot of people that are very supportive of other people in Hollywood transitioning."
Bosstick added, "But maybe if you don't fit that agenda or that kind of typecast, they're not as forgiving with someone like yourself."

He quizzed, "I wonder if you've ever thought about that double standard."
The reality star responded, "I gotta be very careful with that."
"The trans community is probably more critical than the general public," Caitlyn admitted.

Caitlyn's background and beliefs
She elaborated, "Of me being white, I have a job, I've been successful, I have white privilege, I have celebrity privilege."
"I've had every privilege there is in the world - I agree with them! I do. I've worked hard my whole life."
"For that, you can't be a spokesperson for the community."

She added, "I thought I could really make a difference and change the world."
"And in a lot of ways I did just being myself, but I mean, I try to do things politically."
Caitlyn recalled all the work she's done to raise awareness for the Trans community.

"...I'm too controversial"
She said, "I would help some of the organisations here in the Los Angeles area and they would have an event that I helped pay for and they would ask me not to come cause I'm too controversial."
Caitlyn said she's, "on the wrong side of issues for them, I've always been conservative and more on the Republican side than anything."

"I've had members of the community just tear into me and that's like, 'Guys, I'm only trying to help them. I'm here to help.'"
If there's one thing she's sure of, it's the, "huge difference," she's made in the lives of people who are struggling with their identity.
She said she's received so many letters from fans telling her how much she's helped them.

Caitlyn added, "I feel like my greatest contribution that I can make is just being out there."
"Without trying to change the world."
"Just be out there, do shows."
