Cardi B doesn't own 'Okurrr'
Cardi B filed an application to trademark the word 'Okurrr' earlier this year to use on merchandise.
However, the US Patent and Trademark Office have turned down the request.
Whenever we hear someone say, 'Okurrr,' we automatically think Cardi B.
Despite this fact, the US Patent and Trademark Office have declared that it is a 'widely used' phrase.
They say it's a, 'commonplace term, message, or expression widely used by a variety of sources...'
'That merely conveys an ordinary, familiar, well-recognised concept or sentiment.'
What does 'Okurrr' even mean?
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon last year, Cardi explained that the sound, 'is like a cold pigeon in New York City.'
It turns out there's a few different variations of the phrase depending, 'on the situation that you in.'
It looks like Cardi will have to get started on a new catchphrase.
