Curtis Pritchard talks Maura Higgins split
Love Island 2019 finalist Curtis Pritchard has opened up about his split from Maura Higgins.
The dancer admitted he was shocked to see her announce their breakup on social media so soon after.
Curtis told The Sun that their breakup, 'hurt.'
He said, 'I wasn’t ready for everyone to know we had split up... I wanted some time.'
'It was a shock to see that she had announced it on social media hours later.'
Curtis told the publication that he won't be jumping on dating apps anytime soon.
He said, 'I’m very old-fashioned. I don’t actually like talking to people over a mobile phone or laptop.'
'I’m a very sociable person. I like to be with somebody and talk to them.'
The breakup
Maura and Curtis met on last year's series of Love Island and made it all the way to the final.
It wasn't until March of this year that she announced their relationship had ended.
Taking to Instagram Stories, she confirmed, 'Curtis and I have made the decision to separate.'
She went on, 'We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.'
'There is no easy way to get through a breakup and no bad feeling on either side.'
'We tried to make it work but it wasn't to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.'

Shortly after the announcement, Maura detailed exactly why they called it quits.
She said, 'I just felt like I’m 29 and I want somebody that I can see a future with. I’m not getting any younger.'
