Daisy Edgar-Jones Confirms Her Dad Was A Creator On Big Brother

Daisy Edgar-Jones talks about her dad

It turns out Daisy Edgar Jones' dad was one of the creators on Big Brother.

The Normal People actress spoke about it during an appearance on the How to Fail podcast this week.

Podcast host Elizabeth Day had done some serious preparation for the interview.

She told Daisy, "I'm of the generation that watched the first Big Brother series and was totally obsessed..."

"And your dad Philip Edgar-Jones is one of the creators!"

Philip's advice

Elizabeth asked Daisy if her father ever gave her any advice on how to deal with her newfound fame.

Daisy replied, "He's been just the best because when Big Brother was sort of at the top of its game, if you went in you were sort of guaranteed to lose your anonymity and so my dad has always been very good at making sure that..."

"You know he'd say things like, what's really interesting is that people around you might change, but you never will - you'll always be you."

The 22-year-old added, "And it might feel very strange if suddenly people assume certain things."

"They assume they know you for example or they might assume that you think your aloof to them...."

"Or they might assume that, as they say in Ireland, you've got notions."

Philip told her to, "Never ever believe your own hype, just remember that you've got to kind of keep your feet on the ground and your head screwed on and never kind of get too big for your boots."

The Marianne actress admitted, "It's been very useful because I'd never want to be like that."

Daisy's father is also the director of Sky Arts and the Head of Entertainment at Sky.

His Twitter bio reads, 'Trying to learn drums, trying to write one half decent poem. Generally trying'

He's also super supportive of his daughter on social media.
