The drama is ramping up!
If you're a massive Swiftie, the name Tree Paine is probably one you know well. Tree has led Taylor Swift's publicity team since 2014, and she's been slamming rumours that Taylor was secretly married to Joe Alwyn.
The claim was started by Deuxmoi, an Instagram account that regularly shares unconfirmed celebrity gossip.
Despite having zero proof, they have long claimed that Taylor and Joe were married or as-good-as-married after having a secret ceremony in 2020 or 2021.

Yesterday, Deuxmoi posted on Instagram that "more than one person" described the ceremony as a wedding but claimed "it was never made legal."
"I will die on this hill! Put it on my tombstone! I have no reason to lie...
"I'm sorry she didn't tell you guys about it in a song but just because she doesn't sing about something doesn't mean it didn't happen," they wrote.
What did Tree Paine say?
Although Taylor and her team rarely speak out against rumours, this particular claim from Deuxmoi seemed to be the tipping point.
Taylor's publicist, Tree Paine, responded on X (formerly known as Twitter), "Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi.
"There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post.
"It's time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these."

But Deuxmoi, which is reportedly run by one woman alone, has retaliated.
Taking to Instagram, they said pain and trauma "are very strong words" to be used.
"I understand why they'd be bothered, but Tree (and Taylor) are livid. Of all things, why are they so angry about this particular claim that they felt the need to respond?," they wrote.
