With the excitement building for the new season of Game of Thrones which is just a few months away, attention is now turning to the future of the show and what will happen to those beloved characters.
The creators attended the South by Southwest Film Festival over the weekend in Texas where they revealed some details about the show, including how Ed Sheeran will feature in season 7.
However, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss who are the masterminds behind turning the famous books into the TV phenomenon revealed that next year's final season will only have six feature length episodes.
They also spoke about a possible spin-off for the show, saying "There’s always going be an urge — the characters who maybe will survive — there’s always going to be this temptation to keep doing it; to do the spin-off show or do the sequel show and everything. And I think HBO might well do one".
But, it looks like Benioff and Weiss won't be involved in any related series, saying they will leave that to HBO. They also said they're just concentrating on making sure season seven and eight are "what the fans want".
Season 7 of Game of Thrones will be back on HBO and Sky Atlantic this July, have a look at the teaser trailer below.
