The stars of Guardians of the Galaxy have published an open letter defending director, James Gunn, for remarks that he had made years ago which have resurfaced online.
Due to these remarks, Gunn has been fired from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
He took to twitter to address the comments.
2. It’s not to say I’m better, but I am very, very different than I was a few years ago; today I try to root my work in love and connection and less in anger. My days saying something just because it’s shocking and trying to get a reaction are over.

4. For the record, when I made these shocking jokes, I wasn’t living them out. I know this is a weird statement to make, and seems obvious, but, still, here I am, saying it.

5. Anyway, that’s the completely honest truth: I used to make a lot of offensive jokes. I don’t anymore. I don’t blame my past self for this, but I like myself more and feel like a more full human being and creator today. Love you to you all.

The cast of the fanatasy films published on open letter online in the hopes of getting James Gunn reinstated.
The publication read, ''we are not here to defend his jokes of many years ago but rather to share our experience having spent many years together on set making Guardians Of The Galaxy 1 and 2... His apology... we believe is from the heart, a heart we all know, trust and love.''
The letter, which has been posted on the Instagram accounts of Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Chris Pratt, Michal Rooker and Zoe Saldana, includes the signatures of the Guardians Of The Galaxy cast at the bottom.
Zoe Saldana wrote, ''If you please, read the statement written and signed by The Guardians of the Galaxy cast in support of James Gunn’s reinstatement as director of GOTG Volume 3.''
Chris Pratt wrote, ''Although I don’t support James Gunn’s inappropriate jokes from years ago, he is a good man. I’d personally love to see him reinstated as director of Volume 3. If you please, read the following statement- signed by our entire cast.''
