Joanna Chimonides talks Love Island's Callum and Molly

Love Island's Callum and Molly have been facing a lot of backlash online and Joanna Chimonides has had enough.

He's been criticised for playing Shaughna ever since he returned from Casa Amor with Molly on his arm.

And Joanna can't help but compare their situation to hers in the 2019 series.

Callum and Shaughna had been in a coupling before he was sent off to mingle with six new girls.

Meanwhile, Shaughna was left in the main villa with six new boys.

She remained loyal to him while he decided to dump her and re-couple with new girl Molly.

Joanna faced the same predicament during her time on last year's Love Island.

Michael had been in a coupling with Amber but he chose to dump her for Joanna.

While Amber remained loyal to him and was heartbroken to discover he hadn't done the same.

Joanna gives her opinion on the Callum and Shaughna situation in an interview with Goss.ie.

She says, 'Molly is getting the same troll abuse on social media that I was getting.'

'It’s like watching my situation back all over again.'

Joanna defends Callum's decision, 'People forget that contestants go in there to find love.'

'And if you’ve got that natural connection with someone else then obviously, they’ll get together.'

The former Islander goes on, 'The whole point of Love Island is to go in there and find love.'

Joanna points out, 'If you get a better connection with someone else, then you’ve got to do that.'

The reality star uses her former co-stars Maura and Curtis as an example.

'They wanted to get together because they had a much better connection.'

'No one can fault them for that, no one can say anything because that’s a natural love for each other.'

Curtis and Maura had been friends before they became intimate on the show last year.

He had been in a coupling with Amy Hart and when he broke up with her, Maura confessed her feelings for him.

The pair made it to the final and are still in a relationship to this day.

Meanwhile, last night's episode saw Eva and Nas dumped from the villa.
