Court documents obtained by E! News state, 'There being no objections, the petition for change of name is granted.'
'The Decree is signed and filed. The Petitioner's name is changed from Kanye Omari West to Ye.'
The artist reportedly said he wanted to make the change for, 'personal reasons.'
This isn't the first time we've heard him refer to himself as Ye.
In 2018, he tweeted, 'The being formally known as Kanye West...I am YE.'
That was the same year he released his album Ye.
During a chat with radio host Big Boy, as quoted by Billboard, he explained where the word Ye comes from.
"I believe, 'ye,' is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means, 'you.'"
"So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us."
He further elaborated, "It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye."
"Just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything."
"The album is more of a reflection of who we are."
