Lili Reinhart opens up about her depression
Riverdale's Lili Reinhart has opened up about her, 'exhausting battle,' with depression.
The actress took to Instagram Stories to share her feelings, and to urge her followers to take care of themselves.
Lili admitted, 'Some days I feel really defeated by my depression.'
'It's an exhausting battle that I've been fighting for 11 years and some days, like today, it can feel intolerable.'
'This is a reminder to my fellow warriors that it's okay to have days where you don't want to fight anymore.'
She continued, 'You don't need to justify your mental health to anyone.'
Lili wants her followers to, 'prioritise,' themselves and to, 'take time to rest.'
'Surround yourself with good people and high vibrations,' she suggested.
'But remember you are always worth fighting for.'
'And tomorrow could be such a beautiful day,' the 24-year-old concluded.
The Betty Cooper actress has been very vocal about her mental health struggles in the past.
In 2019, she announced on Instagram Stories that she was returning to therapy.
'Friendly reminder for anyone who needs to hear it: Therapy is never something to feel ashamed of,' she wrote.
'Everyone can benefit from seeing a therapist. Doesn't matter how old or 'proud' you're trying to be.'
Lili also released a poetry book titled Swimming Lessons, which in part documents her mental health struggles.
According to Good Reads, the collection, 'explores the euphoric beginnings of young love, battling anxiety and depression in the face of fame, and the inevitable heartbreak that stems from passion.'
Swimming Lessons is out now.
