Love Island's Dr. Alex George has announced he's received the coronavirus vaccine.
He shared the news in a post on Instagram today.

The former Love Islander shared a picture of himself in the hospital getting the jab.
He captioned it, 'I HAVE HAD THE VACCINE!!'
'We have all been hoping for a vaccine ever since this virus appeared.'

Alex continued, 'Felt quite emotional having the jab, it has been a hard year!'
'I am so glad there is light at the end of the tunnel.'
'Huge thanks to Chris, one of the hospital pharmacists, for giving me the injection and to everyone working so hard to roll this out.'

The former reality star has been using his platform to document his journey on the front lines of the global pandemic.
In recent months, he's started focusing his attention on mental health issues.
In a new years resolution post, he said he hopes to bring, 'a meaningful change to mental health education at schools across the UK.'

This new endeavour comes shortly after his 19-year-old brother took his own life last year.
