Oscar Organisers PwC Release Statement Over Last Nights Blunder

The Oscars are making headlines this morning after the wrong winner was called out for the Best Picture award.

In whats being describes as the biggest blunder in Oscar history, the accounting firm in charge of the ballot counting process PwC, have issued a statement apologising for the events which occurred during last nights show.

For anyone who missed it, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced La La Land instead of Moonlight as the winner of the top prize, after they we handed the wrong envelope. Have a look at the full video here.

In a statement, Price Waterhouse Cooper says "We sincerely apologize to Moonlight, La La Land, Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, and Oscar viewers for the error that was made during the award announcement for Best Picture. The presenters had mistakenly been given the wrong category envelope and when discovered, was immediately corrected. We are currently investigating how this could have happened, and deeply regret that this occurred.

We appreciate the grace with which the nominees, the Academy, ABC, and Jimmy Kimmel handled the situation."
