Police in the US have visited Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson after he posted a disturbing message on Instagram.
The post has since been deleted, but it read:
“I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer I can last. All I’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember I told you so.”
He added a heart emoji.
What alarmed Davidson’s fans and authorities was the tone of the comedian's post and police in the US responded by meeting with Ariana Grande's ex-fiance on Saturday.
A New York City police spokesman declined to say where officers met but SNL aired as planned last night, and Davidson himself made a brief appearance, introducing a musical performance.
Before the post which sparked concerns about his safety, Davidson had commended Kayne West for being open about his personal struggles.
This isn't the first time the 25 year old has been open about mental health issues, has he has spoken about borderline personality disorder from which he says he suffers.
According to TMZ, Grande made her way to Manhattan’s 30 Rock building, where SNL is filmed, after Davidson’s Instagram post raised fears for his safety.
The pair announced their engagement in June but broke up in October.
