Richard Hammond has apologised to his wife and daughters after getting into a car crash in Switzerland yesterday.

He can be seen apologising and explaining his injuries in a video Sky News released on their Facebook page.

The former Top Gear presenter was airlifted to hospital after he crashed the Rimac Concept One electric sports car he was driving.

Following the crash, Richard was conscious and talking and climbed out of the car himself, however, the car then burst into flames.

Richard was in Switzerland filming for The Grand Tour with co-stars Jeremy Clarkson and James May. The producer of the show told the Sunday Mirror that ""Jeremy and James both raced down to the scene of the crash as soon as it happened. When they saw the wreckage on fire they thought Richard was dead. It was really bad."
