Rob Brydon talks the future of Gavin and Stacey
Uncle Bryn actor Rob Brydon says there are absolutely no plans for a follow up to the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special.
And to make it even worse, he believes they should leave it alone!
The star opens up to Heat Magazine during a chat at the National Television Awards this week.
When asked about the future of the show, he says, 'There are no plans whatsoever...'
He goes on, 'And personally I would say leave it where it is, with people wanting more.'
Rob explains, 'It's always my instinct and I said that before this special.'
He admits, 'I was very surprised then to see that they had written it.'
Rob explains further, 'Everyone is saying, "you must want to do more," but I'd much rather leave it on a high.'
'It's really hard to come back after 10 years and to make something as popular as it has been because you can get it wrong.'
The Christmas special
***Spoilers to come***
The show's Christmas special did phenomenally well when it debuted on the 25th last month.
It became the most watched scripted show of the decade.
We saw the return of all our favourite characters and it honestly felt like they never left.
Stacey's parents join Gavin's for a big family Christmas.
Of course that includes Nessa and her partner Dave and Smithy and his girlfriend Sonia.
Smithy shocks Gavin when he reveals his plans to propose to Sonia on Christmas Day.
Elsewhere, Bryn is so close to explaining what went down on that fishing trip.
And the show ends on a massive cliffhanger - Nessa proposes to Smithy.
We're praying Rob is wrong - we need to know if Smithy says yes.
