Things have been going pretty well for Irish actress Ruth Negga recently, and now her performances have gotten an impressive seal of approval.
Hollywood legend Samuel L Jackson reckons Ruth is a future Oscar winner.
In an interview with the Sun, Jackson says that "when you’ve worked in the industry for as long as I have, you meet a lot of talented, hopeful new actors. But there are some, a few that have ‘it’, they’re special. I know I’m going to be seeing a lot more of them."
The 35 year old from Limerick has already picked up a Best Actress nomination at this year's awards for her role in Loving.
Jackson, who worked with Ruth in 2012 on Fury, thinks there are big things ahead for her.
"She’s going to win an Oscar, it’s just one of those things you can’t explain why, you just know. She’s been nominated already, it’s just an eventuality.”
He also seems to have a soft spot for Irish actors, having worked with the likes of Colin Farrell in the past. He says " they work hard and there’s no bull****. I like working with actors who get the job done.”
