Selena Gomez reveals all in brand new interview
Pop star Selena Gomez sits down with WSJ. Magazine this week for a chat about her jam packed life.
She talks all things Disney Channel days, Taylor Swift friendship and mental health struggles.
The singer has been suffering with mental health issues such as depression and anxiety since her early 20's.
She admits, 'My highs were really high, and my lows would take me out for weeks at a time.'
'I found out I do suffer from mental health issues.'
Selena points out that the realisation was, 'such a relief,' because it got her on the right medication.
The singer says because of this treatment, 'my life has been completely changed.'
She goes on to reveal she struggles with self esteem issues as well.
The former Disney star explains, 'I had low self-esteem, and that's something I work on continuously.'
'But I feel so empowered because I've gained so much knowledge about what was going on mentally.'
'I feel like I was supposed to go through everything I've gone through.'

Taylor Swift friendship
During the chat, Selena touches upon her friendship with fellow pop star Taylor Swift.
The pair have been best friends for years and it turns out there's much more to their friendship than meets the eye.
Selena explains, 'We don't necessarily feel the need to post about everything we do.'
She goes on, 'She has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected.'
'Flown in because I was hurt and was going through something.'
'Stuff that was going on with my family.'
Selena says she has so much respect for Taylor.
'It's been proven year after year and in every moment of my life that she is one of my best friends in the world.'
'We don't agree on everything, but we respect each other with everything.'
Disney life
Selena kicked off her career as an actress on Disney Channel in 2007.
She played Alex Russo in the hit show Wizards of Waverly Place alongside David Henrie and Jake T. Austin.
The star thinks very highly of her former co-stars, 'Those people were my life.'
Despite Disney's bad reputation for child stars, Selena is grateful for the experience.
'That's the whole reason I moved out here [to L.A.].'
'I literally grew up with them. Before any of the madness happened for me.'
Selena's brand new album Rare drops this Friday.
