Shia LaBeouf faces charges
Shia LeBeouf has been charged with misdemeanor battery and petty theft.
It's after he got into an altercation with a man in L.A. over summer.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the L.A. city attorney’s office confirmed the news Thursday.
The actor has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of petty theft.
It follows an altercation with a man in June.
The L.A. Times report prosecutors are accusing the actor of using force and violence against the man.
TMZ say the verbal altercation that turned physical, ended with LeBeouf taking the man's hat.
This isn't the first time the Transformers actor has had a run-in with the law.
He was arrested outside Studio 54 in NYC in 2014 after he drunkenly crashed a performance of Cabaret.
LeBeouf pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was given months of alcohol abuse treatment.
He was arrested again in 2017 after an altercation with a man at a protest in New York.
Later that year, he was charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and obstruction in Georgia, as reported by the L.A. Times.
LaBeouf issued an apology on Twitter shortly after, 'I am deeply ashamed of my behaviour and make no excuses for it.'
