Olivia Rodrigo chats High School Musical fame
Plan B's Sarina Bellissimo caught up with the star of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Olivia Rodrigo this week.
They talked about the success of the series and the support Olivia received from the original HSM stars.

The Disney+ series dropped late last year and became a massive success.
It follows the story of a group of teenagers who set out to put on a performance of High School Musical as their school production.
Their particular high school however, also happens to be the same school the original HSM movies were shot in.

Olivia plays Nini in the movie - a musical theater enthusiast who's cast in the lead role as Gabriella Montez.
She told Sarina that being a part of the franchise is a massive, "pinch me moment."
Olivia's been a fan of the original films since the start so this is a real dream come true.

Not only does she get to perform all the original HSM hits, but she also gets to perform her own originals too.
Producers asked her to write a song for the series so she wrote All I Want.
She told Sarina that there was a lot pressure in writing a song for the series, but she's so grateful that they believed in her.
The original cast
Olivia also made an appearance in ABC's Disney singalong special last week.
She joined the original cast for a performance of We're All In This Together and she described the experience as, "crazy."
The actress admitted the original cast have been so supportive of the new HSM show.

Olivia told Sarina that she was worried that people who loved the original movies would be apprehensive about the show.
But thankfully, that's not what happened at all, "[The original cast] all embraced us with open arms."
"I really feel like part of a big family!"
