Taylor Swift helps struggling mothers
Taylor Swift has donated $13,000 (€10,753) each to two mothers in the USA struggling to pay their bills due to the global pandemic.
She made the donations via separate gofundme pages, after reading the heartbreaking stories in the Washington Post.
Taylor branded Nikki Cornwell, 'really brave,' for sharing her story.
In her gofundme description, Nikki said 2020 has been, 'a horrible year,' for her family.
She revealed she's struggling to find a job and is still recovering from coronavirus.
In a note alongside her donation, Taylor wrote, 'I’m so sorry for everything you’ve had to go through this year...'
She said she wanted to, 'send [her] this gift,' of $13,000, 'from one Nashville girl to another.'
The singer signed off, 'Love, Taylor'
Taylors second donation went to Shelbie Selewski.
The mother has been spending all her time looking after her ill daughter while, 'tirelessly,' trying to find a job.
In her gofundme description, Shelbie wrote, 'We have sold everything we could possibly sell and with that have always paid our bills as much as possible but it feels like every day something else comes up.'
Alongside her generous donation of $13,000, Taylor left a sweet message for Shelbie and her family.
The Exile singer wrote, 'No one should have to feel the kind of stress that’s been put on you.'
'I hope you and your beautiful family have a great holiday season. Love, Taylor.'
Taylor's generosity
This isn't the first time the artist has paid it forward.
In April, she paid the salaries and healthcare costs for the staff at a Nashville record store.
It's after the small business was forced to close its doors amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The store's co-owner Doyle Davis told Rolling Stone, 'I didn’t even know we were on her radar...'
'She really stepped up to help after the recent tornadoes that struck Nashville and middle Tennessee.'
'And now she’s trying to help a beloved small business in her city.'
