Three things to watch on TV this week:
1) Orange Is The New Black, Netflix From Friday June 9th
The fifth season of OITNB kicks off on Friday- it's Netflix's most watched original series. The show follows the inmates of Litchfield women's prison- the end of season four saw an explosive riot in the jail after one of the inmates was killed. Season 5 is going to pick up exactly where season 4 left off- and apparently the full 13 episodes will take place over just three days.
2) Ackley Bridge, Channel 4, Wednesday at 8pm
This new six part drama series kicks off on Wednesday and stars former Eastenders star Jo Joyner (she played Tanya in Eastenders for years). It's set in a fictional Yorkshire town where the white and Asian populations are divided- this series follows the story of the two separate schools merging into an Academy. Even though the show tackles serious issues like race, bullying etc...it also looks really funny! Check out the trailer:
3) The Late Late Show with James Corden UK Special, Tuesday-Friday Sky 1 at 9pm
James Corden is bringing his US Late Late Show to the UK to film a few special episodes this week. They're beginning to film the sketches in London today and the episodes will be broadcast later this week. Highlights include Ed Sheeran Carpool Karaoke and a Mary Poppins edition of 'Crosswalk the Musical'- where James and his team perform musicals on the streets as the lights go red. Producers for the show have said that James will do a special tribute at the start of the episodes in honour of the London Attack on Saturday- but the rest of the show will carry on as planned.
