Vanessa Morgan has spoken out about being, 'used as a sidekick,' to Riverdale's white leads.
She plays Cheryl Blossom's girlfriend Toni Topaz in the hit CW show.
Taking to Twitter, Vanessa shared a lengthy statement captioned, 'I'm not being quiet anymore.'
She wrote, 'Tired of how black people are being portrayed in media, tired of us being portrayed as thugs, dangerous or angry scary people.'
'Tired of us also being used as sidekick non dimensional characters to our white leads.'
The 28-year-old added, 'Or only only used in the ads for diversity but not actually in the show.'
'It starts with the media. I'm not being quiet anymore.'

In a later tweet, Vanessa insisted, 'My role on Riverdale has nothing to do with my fellow castmates/friends.'
'They don’t write the show. So no need to attack them, they don’t call the shots & I know they have my back.'
Betty actress Lili Reinhart responded, 'We love you, V. And support you 10000%.'
