During Meghan's Oprah interview, she claimed conversations were had within the Royal family about the colour of her son's skin.
She also spoke about her struggles with mental health, and admitted she had suicidal thoughts.
Following the interview, Piers made it clear on Good Morning Britain that he doesn't believe her.
Shortly after Ofcom received thousands of complaints, ITV announced his departure from the show.
At the time, Sharon took to Twitter to show support for her friend, 'I am with you. I stand by you.'
'People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.'

The Talk
Sharon was questioned about her decision to support Piers during a chat on The Talk this week.
Her co-host Sheryl asked, "What would you say to people who may feel that while you're standing by your friend, it appears you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don't agree."
The former X Factor judge responded by saying she's unaware of any racist comments made by her friend.
She also added that it's unfair to assume she's racist just because of her friendship with Piers.
"I very much feel like I'm about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend, who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist? What does it gotta do with me?" Sharon asked.
Confused, she said, "How could I be racist about anybody or anything in my life?"
At this point, Sharon started to become extremely frustrated at the situation, so Sheryl tried to cut to a commercial break.
She said, "Well-" only to be cut off by Sharon asking, "Well what?"

"Well, we'll be right back," she continued as Sharon's demands persisted.
The British TV personality went on to mutter some censored expletives.
After returning, Sharon tearfully told her co-host, "Don't try and cry because if anybody should be crying, it should be me."

She demanded that Sheryl, "educate," her, and share what Piers said that she believes was a racist remark.
Sheryl said, "It is not the exact words of racism, it's the implications and the reaction to it."
"To not want to address that she is a black woman and to try to dismiss it or to make it seem less than what it is, that's what makes it racist."
"...I'm talking to a woman who I believe is my friend..."
"Right now, I'm talking to a woman who I believe is my friend and I don't want anybody here to watch this and say that we're attacking you for being racist."
"It's too late. I think that seed's already sowed," Sharon chimed in.

Sheryl continued, "For me, I thought I was asking a question about the perception for other people."
"That's why I prefaced it with, 'I've never heard you utter anything racist.'"
"But I have felt that Piers was racist in his stance against Meghan Markle..."

Sharon still didn't understand how Piers' comments were racist.
She asked, "If he doesn't like someone, and I think this is for everybody who isn't born white, if Piers doesn't like someone and they happen to be black, does that make him racist?"
"Why can't it be that he just doesn't like her? Why does it have to be racist?"
