Rachel Zegler never received an Oscars invite
The star of Steven Spielberg's West Side Story remake, Rachel Zegler, never received an Oscars invite, despite the film being nominated.
She made the revelation during a chat with fans in the comments of her latest Instagram post.

The actress shared a bunch of photos taken this year, and captioned it, 'a quarter of the year well spent'
A fan commented, 'Can’t wait to see what you’ll be wearing on Oscar night.'
And Rachel replied, 'i'm not invited so sweatpants and my boyfriend's flannel'

Understandably, the revelation sparked outrage among her fans.
In response to this, the 20-year-old said, 'idk y’all i have tried it all but it doesn’t seem to be happening :’) i will root for west side story from my couch and be proud of the work we so tirelessly did 3 years ago.'

'i hope some last minute miracle occurs and i can celebrate our film in person but hey, that’s how it goes sometimes, i guess.'

The actress, who is currently filming Disney's live-action adaptation of Snow White, went on, 'that goes for film productions (like the one I am so lucky to be currently shooting in london)…'
In a follow-up tweet, she continued, '…and awards shows alike.'

An industry source explained to E! News that the film's studio would have been given an allotment of tickets to the Oscars.
This means it would have been up to the guys at 20th Century Studios to offer Rachel an invite.
'It would be different if she was a nominee and or a presenter,' the insider explained.
