If last year is anything to go by, Longitude like to keep us all happy with a mix of music. Their headliners were Kendrick Lamar, Major Lazer and the National. This year's Saturday headliner is the Weeknd and on Sunday, Mumford & Sons will close out the festival.
So...who do we think could kick off the weekend?! Based on last years lineup it looks like we're missing a dance act, so here's who we've narrowed it down to.
Calvin Harris
He dropped new music last week with Frank Ocean (which we love, btw). Looking at his website, the last date of his Vegas residency is the 17th of June. He's a free man from then and hasn't played the Irish festival circuit since 2013. Sounds like a no brainer.
The XX
They're doing a European tour with their new album I See You and have yet to announce an Irish date. On their website, they're not booked in for any gigs the weekend of Longitude just yet. We wouldn't say no to them!
Eminem
Ok so he's not a dance act, but wishful thinking would lead us to Eminem. He's back on the festival circuit, playing Reading and Leeds Festival in August. Why wouldn't he get warmed up with a quick trip to Dublin in July?
