Astronomy Ireland will be setting up some of the most powerful telescopes in Ireland tonight so members of the public can see the moon in all its glory.
People of all ages and interests are welcomed to take part in the free event at 8pm at the Astronomy Ireland HQ in Blanchardstown, Dublin.
"You’ll see craters, mountains, even mountains inside the craters as the moon is at its highest and best seen at this time of year," says AI.
A telescope clinic will be held in conjunction with the event - AI will help anyone who's struggling to configure their personal telescope as the crowds die down.
Refreshments will be served, talks of all things lunar will be given by experts, and the group will be gathering this evening no matter the weather.
No tickets or advance booking is required.
"The moon, our nearest neighbour, is always a great target with lots to see - bring the whole family and all your friends for a night to remember!
