Situated in the historical heart of Dublin 8, the Guinness Storehouse and Guinness Open Gate Brewery will open its gates to some of Ireland’s most exciting talent and creatives and special performances from musical duo JOY (Anonymous) and seasoned storytellers Seanchoíche.
Taking to the Gravity Bar on the evening of Sunday 16th March, JOY (Anonymous) will perform a 2-hour set with surprise support acts from the Irish music scene to ring in St. Patrick’s Day as fans take in breathtaking views of the city.
Ahead of the gig, dance duo JOY (Anonymous) said: “Dublin, it’s about time we got back to you. It’s always an honour being with the Irish, and to now be playing at the Home of Guinness on St. Patrick’s Weekend couldn’t be more perfect. We’ve done a lot of JOY (Anonymous) Meetings in Ireland but doing one overlooking the Dublin skyline will be one for the books. The Tides are looking strong”.
As part of the long weekend, Irish storytelling collective Seanchoíche will take over the Arrol Suite on Friday 14th in partnership with St. Patrick’s Festival for a curated evening to remember at the Guinness Storehouse with the theme of ‘Celebration’. Inspired by the Irish tradition of gathering for a meal with stories, songs, and performances intertwined, this is Seanchoíche like you’ve never experienced it before.
Ciarán Gaffney, Seanchoíche said: “This collaboration with the Guinness Storehouse will showcase the beauty, power and truth in both storytelling and performance, which contributes so massively to Ireland's rich cultural tapestry. Celebration is a theme that most of us are lucky enough to experience at least once in our lives and allows us to reflect on what we have achieved. And this year, celebration is everywhere at the Guinness Storehouse as it celebrates its 25th anniversary”.
And that’s only the start of it! In addition to these special ticketed events, from the 14th – 18th March, there will be tons of entertainment hosted by An Chead Ghluin Eile and St. Patrick’s spectacle from 10am daily as part of the standard ticketed experience at the World’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience.
With the seven floors of the Guinness Storehouse transformed with colourful and bold artwork by multi award winning artist Leah Hewson, the Arrol Suite will showcase performances from Irish talent including alternative folk band Moxie, dynamic group Grooveline, and all female supergroup Biird. All underpinned with live music in Arthur's Bar, Irish language lessons from Blas Gaeilge and even some outdoor parkour, bringing the streets of Dublin 8 alive.
As the vibrancy and energy from the Storehouse carries over to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery, FoxGluv will kick off the weekend on Friday 14th with a curated lineup of DJs including Efa O’Neill and JWY. Saturday will be followed by the Six Nations match shown on the big screen before Sally Cinnamon and Pablo Santos spin tunes together from the final whistle until close. And to finish off the weekend celebrations, on Monday 17th, Mo Cultivation will champion the very best of urban and underground culture with acts like God Knows, Celaviedmai and JyellowL, for a day filled with feel-good fun and performances.
Tickets for JOY (Anonymous)and Seanchoíche will be available on Friday 7th March at 12pm from the following link: https://www.guinness-storehouse.com/en/visit/st-patricks-festival. Limited of two tickets per transaction.
