Spice Bags have become a national treasure.

Crispy chicken, fried peppers and onions, chips and spices make up the delightful dish.

It's one of our first go-to dishes when we're craving something naughty.

Now we're seeing all sorts of variations pop up, from duck to vegan versions.

We've put together a list of some must-try options for the next time you get that craving.

The Sunflower Chinese, Templeogue

Sunflower Chinese in Templeogue claims to be the originator of the spice bag.

They say they've been making them as far back as 2010 and it was created by an unknown hero called Stephen.

The menu also offers versions with extra chicken or prawns.

Xi'an Street Food, Quay Street

Originating in Galway, Xi'an has become one of the most famous spice bags since opening it's Dublin location.

Xi'an was the winner of Deliveroo's Most Popular Spice Bag in 2018 and also made the top 100 most ordered dishes in the entire world.

They also offer a spice bucket which includes shredded chicken, spicy sausage, chicken wings and chips.

Lin Kee, Swords

Winner of a Best Spice Bag at the 2017 Just Eat Takeaway Awards, Lin Kee packs a lot of flavour.

They pride themselves on 100% natural and fresh food.

Other locations include Artane, Cabra, Glasnevin and North Strand, and you can even watch your food be prepared in their open kitchen.

Duck, Fade Street

This Hong Kong style BBQ meat deli brings their own twist to the classic spice bag.

They add the traditional roasted duck, bringing a whole new flavour to the dish.

The menu also includes a chicken option if duck isn't your thing.
