Of course, what is a day out without some great grub to top it all off? Luckily, Dublin is a foodie heaven.

Places To Check Out

The National Museum at Collins Barracks

Collins Barracks is home to The Decorative Arts & History part of the National Museum of Ireland.

Having housed both British Armed Forces and the Irish Army, the barracks itself has son much history to be learned about.

Through displays of furniture, weaponry and costumes you'll go on a journey of Ireland's economic, social, political and military history.

Hugh Lane Gallery

The Hugh Lane Gallery is home to a fantastic collection of modern and contemporary Irish and international art.

Thought to be one of the first modern art galleries in the world, here you'll find pieces by iconic artists such as Manet, Monet, Renoir and Degas.

The studio of legendary Irish artist Francis Bacon is also preserved here, including unfinished pieces of his art.

14 Henrietta street

On Henrietta Street you will find some of Dublin's best Georgian architecture and history.

In the museum at Number 14 Henrietta Street you can learn more about this time in the city's history, including how these houses built for the rich became tenement dwellings.

The guided tour will transport you back in time, telling stories of former residents and their everyday reality.

Trinity College and The Book of Kells

Trinity College is a right of passage for most tourists coming to Dublin, but have you ever explored the grounds of the university?

On a student-led tour you can learn all about this history of Trinity and all it has to offer.

Visit The Long Room, one of the most stunning libraries in the world, and browse their 250,000 ancient texts. Then step inside the Treasury to see one of the world's finest examples of medieval text in The Book Of Kells.

Gallery of Photography

At the Gallery of Photography you can check out some of the best Irish and international photography.

Located in the heart of Temple Bar, the gallery runs free exhibitions which highlight our rich photographic culture.

They also run tours, talks and workshops, and you can pick up a piece by an emerging Irish artist in their Photobook Shop.

Places To Eat

Wuff

Located just off Smithfield, Wuff is the perfect spot to grab a bite if you're heading to the National Museum at Collins Barracks.

This locally owned bistro serves up breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch and also offers take-out.

Their menus constantly shift as the brains behind them come up with creative and innovative ways to use prime produce from Ireland and abroad.

Flanagans O'Connell Street

This family-run business prides itself on excellent hospitality and well-priced, great food.

Whether you choose to eat in their Deco-inspired dining room or people watch from their O'Connell Street outdoor seating, you're sure to receive a warm welcome at Flanagans.

They serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner here, along with specialty cocktails and artisan coffee.

Mr Fox

Nestled in the heart of Dublin 1, just around the corner from the Hugh Lane Gallery, Mr Fox is a informal but atmospheric restaurant.

Chef Anthony Smith has spent years cooking around the world and brings the flavours he's discovered back to his hometown to make modern, international dishes.

They also offer a 5 course taster menu where you can sample some of the best dishes on the menu.

The Vintage kitchen

Just a short walk from Trinity College, The Vintage Kitchen specialises in quality food made from hand-picked local ingredients.

Their cosy and warm restaurant offers BYOW and even lets guests bring their own LPs to play on their 1970s record player.

A small collection of vintage arts and crafts are also on sale, and their Guinness bread is a must-try.

Elephant & Castle have built a reputation of having some of the best chicken wings in Dublin.

However, they also serve up gourmet burgers, fresh salads and delicious homemade desserts in their many Dublin locations.
