Apple set to introduce brand new emojis
Apple's upcoming IOS 14.5 update for iPhone is set to introduce some brand new emojis.
According to Tyla, we'll be getting 217 new additions later this year, making the selection more relevant and inclusive.

Some of the new additions seem to be reflective of the current climate.
For example, there's a coughing emoji, a bandaged red heart and a heart on fire.
The syringe emoji has also been updated to remove the red blood.

They're also increasing representation with new gender options.
Users will now be able to find male-presenting and female-presenting emojis with beards.
There are also emoji options for interracial couples and same-sex couples.

According to Tyla, they've also added helmets to the rock climbing emojis to promote safety.
They've also updated the headphone emoji to look like the latest model of AirPods Max.

The IOS 14.5 software update is due out sometime this spring.
