All Is Calm
The All Is Calm campaign aims to raise awareness of the difficulties that autistic people face at Christmas.
While the festive season is a time for celebration, this isn't the case for everyone.
We associate Christmas with parties, lights and noisy gatherings.
However, for people with autism, it can be a complete sensory overload.
All Is Calm is asking people and businesses to be more aware this Christmas.
The campaign is encouraging people to slow their celebrations down for just one hour and help provide safe spaces for those with autism.
How can I help?
You can help by simply turning down your music and dimming your lights this Christmas.
In addition, you could host an All Is Calm coffee morning and help raise much-needed funds.
You just need to provide a quiet room with dim lights, low music, and some volunteers to host.
Sign up at the As I Am website to receive your resource pack and campaign material.
The way we celebrate Christmas in Ireland neglects an entire community, do your bit to help this year.
