Dublin's Best Bits From Northside To Southside

Dublin is a city divided in two. Whether you're on the Northside or Southside, there's so much to see and do on either side of the River Liffey.

We've teamed up with VisitDublin.com to give you some great ideas for your next day out in Dublin. Check them out below.

National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks

The Decorative Arts & History part of the National Museum of Ireland is found in Collins Barracks.

Ireland's economic, social, political and military history is brought to life here, with display of costumes, weaponry and furniture.

The barracks itself is steeped in history, having housed both British Armed Forces and Irish Army over three centuries.

Light House Smithfield

One of Dublin's most vibrant cultural spaces, The Light House sits on the edge of Smithfield Square.

As well as the bog blockbusters, you'll also find films here that are a little more niche plus events streamed to the big screen.

The beautifully designed space also has a café that serves unique cinema snacks, from sausage rolls to craft beer.

Jameson Distillery, Bow Street

Since it opened in 1708, Jameson Distillery on Bow Street has been dedicated to producing world class Irish whiskey.

Now, their distillery tour has been named one of the best in the world where you can immerse yourself in making, mixing and tasting.

Finish off your visit by climbing the 244 steps to the top The old Jameson Chimney Tower and taking in spectacular views of the city.

St. Audoen's Church

St. Audoen's Church is dedicated to the patron saint of Normans and is Dublin's oldest church.

Visitor's can take a tour from St. Anne's Chapel to check out the stunning architecture and the remains of the old medieval city walls just behind it.

The church is also home to The Lucky Stone and the steps are said to be haunted by Dublin's first female serial killer.

Little Museum Of Dublin: Green Mile Tour

The Little Museum of Dublin tells the true story of the Irish capital, with so much of that history being based around St. Stephen's Green.

On The Little Museum's Green Mile Tour you'll learn about the key role it played in Irish history, from the Irish constitution being signed at The Shelbourne to James Joyce studying on the Green.

The hour long walking tour takes place everyday at 3:30pm.

MoLI - Museum of Literature Ireland

Speaking of where Joyce studied, Newman House is now home to MoLI.

The immersive museum features multimedia exhibitions that celebrate Irish novelists, playwrights and poets.

It's also home to some must-see literary artefacts, including 'copy number one' of Ulysses.

National Print Museum

The National Print Museum was founded by members of the print industry and is the only museum of it's kind in Ireland.

Letterpress was one of the world's most important inventions and was used for over 500 years.

Set up to replicate a 1960s print-shop,the museum houses a collection of letterpress printing equipment which is still fully functional.

Dublin Discovered Boat Tours

Dublin Discovered Boat Tours takes you on a 45 minute cruise right through the heart of Dublin on the River Liffey.

Suitable for all ages, you'll see the Ha’penny Bridge, O’Connell Street, the Custom House, the Jeanie Johnston, the Georgian quaysides and the 3 Arena from a whole new view.

Tours start at Bachelor's Walk, with the boats also available for private hire.

The Lazy Bike Tour Company

The Lazy Bike Tour Company will take you on a fully guided 2 hour cycle around Dublin.

However, you'll also have the help of their stylish electric cruiser bike to give you that extra 'oomph'.

You'll hear interesting stories of the city along the way, with stops at Dublin Castle, St Patrick's Cathedral, Guinness Brewery and Christ Church Cathedral.

From Dublin's Northside to Southside, there's so much to explore in the city. Plus, most of these attractions are easily accessible by foot, Dublin bike or on public transport.
