Instagram's latest feature
Instagram are introducing a brand new feature allowing users to include their pronouns in their profile.
The field is only available in certain countries right now.
The photo sharing app announced the latest update on Twitter during the week.
You'll be able to access the feature by clicking the, 'Edit Profile,' button on your account.
At the moment, you can fill in your name, username, website and bio.
The latest update however, will introduce a field titled, 'Pronouns.'
You can add up to four pronouns, and you can also choose whether or not you want them visible on your page.
As you can see in the image below, your pronoun will appear in light grey writing next to your name.

Including your pronoun in your bio has become a common practice on social media.
And this new dedicated field is something we might see introduced on other apps soon.
Jennifer Grygiel, an assistant professor of communication at Syracuse University, spoke about it with The Guardian.
'From an inclusion standpoint, this is something all products should be doing,' Grygiel believes.
'For those of us trying to be welcoming and inclusive, this is the best practice for everyone.'
'It allows us to build a better community and a better society, when we have conversations like these.'
This new Instagram update hasn't been introduced in Ireland yet.
