BAFTA 2020
The 73rd BAFTA Awards took place in the Royal Albert Hall, London last night.
1917 was the big winner of the night taking home seven prizes.
While the main acting awards went to Renee Zellweger for Judy and Joaquin Phoenix for Joker.
Speeches
The winning speeches were a big talking point this morning.
With lots of stars touching on topical subjects such as Brexit, Megxit and sustainability.
Graham Norton
Graham Norton opened the ceremony with a joke-filled four minutes.
He slagged of the Irishman and Cats and touched on the issues of sustainability and white male privilege.
Rebel Wilson
Rebel Wilson delivered a hilarious speech before announcing the winner for Best Director.
She shocked some of the guests (including Prince William and Kate) when she joked about recent issues surrounding the Royal Family.
She also made a number comments on the lack of gender diversity displayed in the Best Director category.
Margot Robbie
Margot Robbie accepted the Supporting Actor award on behalf of Brad Pitt.
He won for his role alongside Robbie in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Reading a speech written by Pitt Robbie joked that he would call his trophy Harry because, "he's really excited about bringing it back to the States with him."
Joaquin Phoenix
Joaquin Phoenix went down a more serious route when he accepted the award for Leading Actor.
He spoke about people of colour being made to feel unwelcome in the BAFTA categories.
"That's the message that we're sending to people who have contributed so much to our medium..."
Taika Waititi
Taika Waititi won the Adapted Screenplay away for his movie Jojo Rabbit.
Being from New Zealand he joked, "coming from the colonies, we know it's been a hard week for you guys and it's been very nice to take a little bit of your gold."
