Minions - Rise of Gru went bananas at the US box office over the weekend according to Universal.
The production company says it has smashed the previous record set by Transformers Dark of the Moon in 2011.
It's also the subject of a Tiktok trend called Gentle-Minions, whereby people dress up in formal attire to watch the movie in a cinema.

What has been dubbed the 'Gentleminions' trend sees large groups of young men don formalwear, usually dark suits and ties, to attend screenings of the new animated film, Minions: The Rise of Gru.
In several viral videos shared on the social media app, the men, usually teenagers, join their friends to descend upon their local cinemas in their finest clothes.
