Elliot Page's character in The Umbrella Academy will come out as transgender in the upcoming third season.
The actor announced the news on social media last night with a first look image: 'Meet Viktor Hargreeves'

Page first came out as transgender in December 2020.
At the time, there was no word on whether Netflix would be changing his character from Vanya Hargreeves.
In fact, an insider told Variety there were no plans to change Vanya's gender in the show.

Even when the season's first teaser dropped earlier this month, the character was still Vanya.
So Page's social media revelation is the first time the topic of the character's transition has come up.
