HBO and Now have uploaded a new version of the special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts after fans spotted a number of editing mistakes.
The special used a photo of Emma Roberts instead of Emma Watson as well as misidentifying the Phelps twins, who play Fred and George in the franchise.
After the premiere last week, fans were reunited with breakout stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and more Hogwarts alums.
After the long-awaited premiere of the reunion, some fans took to social media to highlight a number of editing mistakes. The social media posts led to creators of the show to quickly make corrections and upload the new version of the special.
Harry Potter fans quickly spotted that an image of a young Emma Roberts was shown onscreen instead of Emma Watson, while she reminisced about her childhood. Fans even found the old throwback photo shown in the special on Emma Roberts Instagram account.

In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, producers said, “Well spotted Harry Potter fans! You brought an editing mistake of a mislabelled photograph to our attention. The new version is up now”
Mistaking the Phelps Twins
Fellow wizarding star Oliver Phelps, one-half of the Weasley twins, also spotted an editing blunder. He took to Instagram to share that he had been mistaken for his twin brother James in the onscreen credits.
The famous wizard posted, “I guess after all those pranks over the years somebody decided to get their revenge.”

The blunder is somewhat ironic as all throughout the series, the Weasley twins were famous prankers. The pair would constantly swap places and even fool their own mother, played by Julie Walters.
Fellow star Tom Felton who played famed baddy and school bully Draco Malfoy jokingly jabbed at the mishap and took credit for the mistake, commenting, “It was my doing”.
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts is currently streaming on HBO Max and Now.
Back in 2021, the stars of the show paid tribute to the franchise after the special was announced.
