Bridgerton season 2
Yesterday, Netflix confirmed the hit Shondaland series Bridgerton has been renewed for a second season.

The new season will follow Jonathan Bailey's character Lord Anthony Bridgerton.
In the official Netflix renewal announcement, Lady Whistledown says:
'This author has been reliably informed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season.'
Series creator, Chris Van Dusen, told Today with Hoda & Jenna, "We left him at the end of the first season at a bit of a crossroads, so I’m looking forward to jumping in and discovering how he fares on the marriage market."
This storyline is also chronicled in The Viscount Who Loved Me, which is the second book of Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series.

New characters
In addition to this, we can expect to see some brand new faces.
Bailey will need a female romantic lead to play opposite to in the new season.
Chris confirmed, "We have a bunch of new characters we are going to be introducing."

"Anthony is going to have a love interest next season, and I think it’s going to be as sweeping and moving and as beautiful as viewers of the first season have come to expect from the show."
Chris was also asked whether Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page will return as Daphne and Simon.

He responded, "I hope so."
The creator elaborated, "They're not the Duke and Duchess of Hastings, but in my mind, they will always be Bridgertons and I think they'll always be part of the show."
