Calam Lynch cast in Bridgerton
Irish actor Calam Lynch has been cast in season two of the hit Shondaland/ Netflix show Bridgerton.
He's been named as one of the four newest additions to the cast.

You might recognise Lynch from his small role in season two of Derry Girls.
He played John Paul O'Reilly in The Prom episode.
The actor also has a number of film credits such as Dunkirk, Black Beauty and Benediction.

He'll join the main cast from season one of Bridgerton, which includes fellow Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan.
Lynch will play Theo Sharpe; a hardworking printer's assistant.
But he's not just a working class man, he's also an intellectual who fights for the rights for all.

Other casting announcements
Calam is just one of four new actors joining Bridgerton for season two.
Netflix announced the news on Twitter yesterday evening.
Bridgerton has added four actors to Season 2:
Charithra Chandran will play Edwina Sharma, Kate’s younger sister and Shelley Conn will play Mary Sharma, Kate’s mother.

Charithra Chandran
Charithra will play Edwina Sharma; a kind-natured and endlessly endearing lady.
Edwina has been taught by her older sister Kate to be the perfect debutante.

Shelley Conn
Shelley will play Mary Sharma; an Earl’s daughter whose marriage to a tradesman once embroiled her family in scandal.
Lady Mary has now returned to London with her own daughters and is forced to endure the scrutiny of the ton yet again.
Rupert Young
Rupert will play Jack.
Jack is the newest member of the ton with a connection to one of its most notable families.

These latest casting announcements come days after Netflix revealed Regé-Jean Page will not be returning for season two.
They devastated fans with the news over the weekend, '[bidding] adieu,' to his character The Duke of Hastings.
'Your Grace, it has been a pleasure,' they captioned the announcement post.
