Lizzie McGuire reboot put on hold
It's been reported the upcoming Disney Plus Lizzie McGuire reboot has been put on hold.
The news comes as Variety reports original series creator Terri Minsky has stepped down as show-runner on the project.
It's unclear as to why Terri has stepped down however, her departure has put a spanner in the works.
A Disney spokesperson tells Variety, 'Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series.'
The spokesperson explains, 'After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show.'
Variety reveals, 'A new show-runner has not yet been named.'

Production began in November last year with the revelation that Adam Lamberg will return as Gordo.
Meanwhile, Jake Thomas returns as her brother Matt and Hallie Todd is back as her mother Jo.
Robert Carradine will also reprise his role as her father Sam.
The series itself
In August the news broke that Duff would reprise her role as Lizzie for a new series.
She took to Instagram to make the announcement saying, 'I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl.'

The show will follow now 30-year-old millennial Lizzie as she navigates life in the Big Apple.
But while some things have changed, others remain and animated Lizzie will return to offer her always hilarious commentary.

Now that the series has been put on hold, we have no idea when it'll air.
But it will appear on Disney's new streaming service Disney Plus which launched late last year.
