It's Day 10 in the Love Island villa, and just when you though things were going a little too smoothly for our islanders in walks Maura Higgins.
In the space of one night the Longford native has managed to cause a lot of drama.
It's trouble in paradise for Danny and Michael.
While Tommy's head as done a, '560 degree turn'.
Main courses for Maura & Elma
Maura and Elma's dates continue.
It’s time for the main course but Maura can’t get Tommy off her mind.
Speaking with Elma, she says, “I was just thinking about being in the Hideaway with him [Tommy].”
Next up, Anton will cook a main for Elma while it's Danny's turn to cook for Tommy.
Elma is impressed with Anton's spaghetti carbonara.
“Look at the presentation! This is actually delicious. You’ve done really well.”
Anton asks where Elma is from and she tells him Essex.
Anton says, “I was waiting for an Essex girl to come in.”
Conversation soon shifts to Anton and Elma’s jobs. Anton says “I’ve got my own gym company.”
Elma replies, “I could tell when you walked me down the stairs that your arms were really tensed.”
Anton asks, “Were you feeling that?”
Elma says, “Yeah. A lot of muscle there. You were flexing it, weren’t you?”
When Elma tells Anton that she is a lash technician, he is keen to know whether her skills extend to eyebrows.
Elma says, “I can do eyebrows actually.”
Anton says, “I need someone to do my eyebrows.”
Elma says, “I can sort them right out for you.”
Over at Maura and Danny’s table, Maura is equally as impressed with the food prepared by Danny.
She says, “Oh my God, you’re a really good cook.”
“You should give Tommy some pointers.”
Maura is keen to know how things with Danny and Yewande are progressing.
Danny says, “One of the things that attracted me to her was her Irish accent.”
Maura says, “Really? Do you like the Irish accent?”
Danny says, “Yes. It’s incredible.”
Dessert
Michael and Tommy sit down for their dessert dates with Maura and Elma.
Elma wants to hear how things are going with Molly-Mae and Tommy.
Tommy says, “Yeah it’s good. But she’s only been here for five days, so I’m getting to know her but that’s it.”
Elma is aware of the sparks already flying between Tommy and Maura. She asks “What do you think of Maura?”
Tommy replies, “As soon as I saw her come in my eyes were drawn to her.”
Similarly, Maura is keen to hear about Michael’s current romantic situation in the villa.
Michael says, “I’m not sure whether she [Amber] is too into it.”
Maura asks, “So, you don’t know where you stand? You should know where you stand. That’s very strange.”
Michael says, “She is very straight with everyone else but she isn’t straight with me.”
Maura says, “I feel like she should be.”
As Maura and Michael continue to tuck into their dessert, the other girls try to grab Michael’s attention from the terrace.
An unimpressed Maura asks, “Why are they being so immature? This is embarrassing.”
She continues, “I’ll give them something to talk about.”
Maura then feeds Michael some of their dessert.
Michael calls Amber 'childish'
As the islanders are reunited, Michael is keen to chat to Amber straight away.
But as Amber enters the garden she walks past Michael to greet Elma.
Speaking to the boys around the fire pit, he says “I can’t be dealing with childish girls.”
Amber overhears Michael and asks him to elaborate.
In the Beach Hut, Michael says, “I waited at the bottom of the stairs so I could speak to Amber and reassure her again that there is no reason for her to feel any kind of way.
She walked straight past me and ignored Maura who I was on a date with.”
Shortly after, Michael and Amber have a chat.
Michael says, “I told you that you had nothing to worry about.”
Later he speaks with Curtis on the swing seat.
Questioning his future with Amber he says, “I don’t believe she is invested in it like I am. Why am I bothering?”
Curtis says, “I think she is scared you’re not going to be with her.”
Michael says, “She is the only girl that has ever made me laugh. I’ve never met a girl like her.
"But I don’t want these games any more. That’s not why I’m here.”
Curtis replies, “Amber likes you.”
Michael says, “She’s got a funny way of showing it.”
Tommy's head is turned
Molly-Mae is conscious that Tommy may have feelings for Maura after their date.
But Maura's meddling doesn't stop there.
She explains to Molly-Mae that she's cold to which Molly-Mae asks, “Do you want my jacket?”
Maura says, “You’re literally the cutest. We will literally be best friends.”
However, it isn’t long before Tommy is grafting Maura and the pair talk about boxing and Maura’s job as a ring girl.
Molly-Mas isn't impressed.
Speaking with Yewande, Michael and Anton, she says, “She’s [Maura] a ring girl. It is what it is.”
Later, Molly-Mae speaks with Maura about her date with Tommy.
Maura says, “I’m not going to lie, he was flirting.”
Molly-Mae replies, “I just want you to know where me and him are at.
We’re not in this triangle anymore, it’s just me and him.
He did really reassure me before he went on the date.”
In the Beach Hut, Maura reflects on her chat with Molly-Mae.
She says, “Yes, they’re in a couple and I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes."
"But if he wants me, what am I going to do?”
It looks as if Tommy and Maura can’t keep away from each other and Maura wastes no time in laying it on thick.
The pair chat on the swing seat.
Speaking about his current coupling with Molly-Mae Tommy says, “I am coupled up with her and there is a good connection there.”
Tommy & Molly-Mae fight
But Maura wants to know how Tommy feels about their connection.
She says, “Do you think it is as good as this?”
Tommy replies, “I’ll be honest with you. When I saw you and went on a date with you, my head did a 560 degree turn.”
Tommy heads inside and Molly-Mae wants to tell him how she feels.
In the bedroom they have a heated conversation.
Tommy says, “She’s [Maura] come in here and I’ve had a connection with her. I like the girl and I’m going to get to know her.”
Molly-Mae replies, “I thought spending every day together, sharing a bed together would be enough to make you realise that I do like you.”
Tommy says, “It just feels like you’re keeping your options open.”
Drama for Danny & Yewande
Danny is keen to have a chat with Yewande after his dates, specifically the heckling from the other girls on the terrace.
Danny says, “The laughing thing, what was that about?”
Yewande says, “We were just laughing.”
Danny feels the other girls could have given Maura and Elma a friendlier welcome.
He says, “They could have been really nice and really lovely.”
Yewande replies, “I’m sure they are lovely.
She continues, They came in really confident and they set the atmosphere for themselves.
Everything after that was just a reaction of what happened. Every action has a reaction. It’s just the laws of physics.”
In the Beach Hut, Danny says “I saw Yewande participate in something I wasn’t keen on.”
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two.
